Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

• Install Wise Package Studio and its client.

• Apply the fundamentals of Microsoft Windows Installer technology to their installation.

• Describe the elements of a good component design.

• Identify and resolve user profile-related ICE errors.

• Create installations that use custom actions.

• Create an SVS package.

• Apply security permissions to an .MSI using various methods.

• Import files into the Software Manage database.

• Create packages that support Windows Vista.

• View, display, filter, detect, and resolve conflicts in a package.

Who Should Attend

This course is for:

• System administrators who want to obtain additional knowledge with application repackaging.

• Participants working towards their Altiris Certified Engineer or Enterprise Altiris Certified Engineer certification.

Prerequisites

• Have a basic understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft® Windows operating systems.

• Use Wise Package Studio regularly.

• Attend the Repackaging with Wise Package Studio instructor-led training course.

Hands-On

This course includes practical exercises and labs that enable participants to test their new skills and begin to transfer them into their working environment.
